Opening ceremonies at the New Lake Baikal Aquarium and Museum Wednesday June 23, 2004

There is a long history of support and encouragement by Betchart Expeditions Inc. and our travelers for the construction of the New Lake Baikal Aquarium and Museum. When we first met Dr. Vladimir Fialkov, the director of the Baikal Museum in April 1994, we spoke of this dream and it became a mutual ambition. Many Betchart travelers to Lake Baikal contributed funds to the Museum for this project, and we would like to thank everyone for their support.
