Archaeological & Cultural Heritage of Northern Greece

A fascinating discovery of historic cities and archaeological sites in Northern Greece. Start in Athens, then fly to Kastoria, a beautiful lakeside town in the mountains. Visit Kozani en route to Thessaloniki, with great views of the Pindos ranges. Antiquities from the prehistoric to the Byzantine have been discovered in Kozani. We will continue to he World Heritage city of Thessaloniki where we will visit the superb Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki with special attention to Alexander the Great and Philip tomb finds, and the rich Roman and Byzantine monuments. We will also visit Dion, a Panhellenic sanctuary and Vergina/Aegai royal tombs. Also see the Royal Palace at Pella, and the ancient city of Kilkis.
We will travel to Kavalla to visit Amphipolis, for new important finds in huge tombs, and to visit the museum.
Explore the ancient World Heritage city of Philippi, and the island of Thasos which is rich in antiquities.

including the Aegean Odyssey and Peloponnese Expedition.
