West Greenland is one of the most beautiful and unforgettable places on Earth. It is breathtaking with a unique cultural heritage of its own.   
  Fly from Iceland to explore Nuuk and Disco Bay.

Day 1 & 2: (Thur/Fri June 27/28) Depart USA for Reykjavik, Iceland
Arrive Iceland on Day 2 (June 28). Transfer to our hotel near the Keflavik Airport, along the Reykjanes coast, 29 miles from Reykjavik. Drop your bags at our hotel and have free time for a visit to the nearby Blue Lagoon, or travel to visit the city of Reykjavik. Evening for rest and leisure. 
Note: Passengers on the Wild Iceland Expedition June 20-29, 2024 will fly from the north to Reykjavik and transfer to the hotel in Keflavik (June 28).

Day 3: Sat June 29 Iceland to Nuuk
Group transfer to the airport for our early morning flight to Nuuk, the capital of Greenland. Enjoy a welcome lunch and introductions. Afternoon boat tour into Nuuk Fjord. Dinner of fresh caught fish.

Day 4: Sun June 30 Nuuk
Free time to explore Nuuk this morning.
In the afternoon visit a local artist to learn about their craft and connection to Greenland. Dinner and a talk about Inuit language and culture.

Day 5: Mon July 1 Nuuk
National Museum & Storytelling of Greenlandic Myths - visit the National Museum.  Go for a stroll around the old quarters of town. 

Day 6: Tue July 2 Day 6 Nuuk to Ilulissat & Disco Bay World Heritage Site
This morning we'll fly Nuuk to Ilulissat, situated on Disco Bay. with the Ilulissat Glacier.
Afternoon boat trip onto Disco Bay & cross the mouth of the Ilulissat Icefjord. Visit the small town of Qasiginnguit to see sled dogs who are on summer vacation and learn about living in Greenland in the winter. 

Day 7: Wed July 3 Ilulissat Icefjord
Explore Ilulissat to discover both the historic and modern sides of this charming town, founded in 1741 as Jakobshaven.
In the afternoon take an easy walk on the trails through hundreds of sled dogs and their puppies to the Ilulissat Icefjord UNESCO World Heritage Site, to Sermermiut Valley which has been home to Inuit people for over 4000 years.

Day 8: Thur July 4 Ilulissat to Reykjavik
Fly back to Reykjavik arriving about 3:45 pm. Overnight near Keflavik Airport.

Day 9: Fri July 5 Reykjavik
USA Independent transfers to the airport for flights home.

Passengers on the Wild Iceland Escape Cruise, July 5-9, 2024 transfer to the airport in the morning to join the group transfer and lunch before embarkation.
