ANTARCTICA: by Sea & Air
Cruise from Ushuaia to the Antarctic Peninsula,
Fly home from King George island over Drake Passage

NOVEMBER 19-28, 2024

10% discount over listed fares

Venturing to Antarctica is an expedition like no other — a chance to explore wonderlands of sculpted snow and ice where whales swim, penguins flock, and albatross soar. It’s a true journey of a lifetime that has historically called for multiple weeks of travel, including a round-trip sea crossing of the Drake Passage.

I am excited to share with you this marvelous opportunity: A chance to sail to Antarctica across the Drake Passage and to return from Antarctica by air. This will give brief, spectacular views of the icy massif and islands of Antarctica on your return flight.
This cruise and fly expedition takes you to Antarctica aboard National Geographic Explorer, allowing you to experience the rolling seas, birdlife, and whales of the Drake Passage, and also to see Antarctica and the islands and mountains of Tierra del Fuego, the southern most tip of South America, on the return flight.
After five days immersed in Antarctica’s spectacular ices capes, you’ll return to South America on a two-hour flight.

Antarctica Expedition mapYou’ll have a greater appreciation of the
Antarctic undersea, with the expertise of an undersea specialist and with the help of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). And you’ll capture the amazing scenery and wildlife with a unique expedition photography program, featuring an onboard professional photographer.

It is important to remember that Antarctica is not tame — it is one of the most remote and wild places on Earth. Our tour operator for this program, Lindblad Expeditions, pioneered expedition travel to Antarctica over 50 years ago and is well known for their experience and commitment to safety and preserving the environment. We’ll travel to the White Continent aboard the state-of-the-art expedition ship National Geographic Explorer, designed to provide you with the utmost safety and comfort. I hope you will join us on this memorable trip of a lifetime to the stunning wilderness of Antarctica!
Actual excursions by zodiac and kayak, or to land, will depend on weather and are at the discretion of the Captain.
