We invite you to join us for an animal-lover’s voyage to the Falkland Islands - South Georgia - & the Antarctic Peninsula to explore one of the last untamed areas on Earth – a land of ruggedly beautiful landscapes, and amazingly varied wildlife!
This 19-day voyage includes visits to some of the most picturesque locations in the Southern Hemisphere. Experience all Antarctic highlights in one voyage.
Starting from charming Ushuaia we head to the Falkland Islands to spend 2 days exploring spectacular landing sites with encounters with black-browed albatross. The ship will make possible visits to Rockhopper, King, Magellanic, or Gentoo penguin colonies. The local ocean is home to sea lions, and Peale’s and Commerson’s dolphins. Port Stanley is a charming Victorian-style town with typical English Gardens and a population of aging Land Rovers left over from the 1982 war.
This voyage continues with four days on South Georgia, one of the most beautiful places on earth. Be prepared for thousands of king penguins and their chicks, sea lions on the beaches, elephant seals, wandering albatross and Gentoo penguins, and great historical sites including the trails of British Polar explorer Ernest Shackleton.
We plan to visit Orcadas station on South Orkney Islands.
If the ice permits we will sail into the Weddell Sea through the ice-clogged Antarctic Sound. Huge tabular icebergs will announce our arrival to the eastern side of the Antarctic Peninsula where Paulet Island, with its large population of Adélie penguins or Brown Bluff are possible stops.
