Cruise the mighty Columbia and Snake Rivers, and take in the scenery once witnessed by America’s great explorers. These awe-inspiring views are part of this carefully designed voyage following the path of the Lewis and Clark expedition that rewrote the map of the American West. Aboard our expedition ship, journey further into history as you transit the Columbia River Gorge. See time layered in the riverbanks, where the Missoula Floods of 15,000 years ago carved much of the route you travel, and the landslides of 500 years ago altered the river’s course by a full mile—events Betchart’s geological expert and others on board will explain. In fact, the full expedition team puts everything into context, weaving an ongoing narrative from each day’s events.
 Fall is harvest time and the region bursts with flavors from the orchards we see, and in the dining room as we provision the ship
from local markets, vineyards, and breweries. Enjoy complimentary wine and craft beer during dinner and tastings aboard, along with delicious food grown in the rich soil of the region. Hear about the native heritage and the Lewis and Clark Expedition. See modern marvels of human engineering—the imposing systems of locks and large-span bridges we travel through.
